Roche unveils its first ever Customer Experience Center in Chennai

This first-of-its kind center will help stakeholders visualize disease pathways, drug mode of action and co-create better patient solutions.

Roche Pharma India today inaugurated an industry-first customer experience center; envisioned as a space to spur collaboration with healthcare professionals, researchers and educational institutions in an effort to shape the future of healthcare. This center will offer immersive and interactive healthcare content, comprehensive insights into medical science and information about Roche’s innovative, lifechanging product portfolio and technologies that have redefined healthcare for over 125 years.

Using the latest 4IR (Fourth Industrial Revolution) digital technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and AI, doctors and other stakeholders will be able to visualize disease pathways, drug-action in the human body, and co-create better solutions leading to better patient outcomes. The Roche Experience Center reflects the company’s mission to empower communities with scientific insights and support informed healthcare decisions. This is the first of similar customer experience centers that Roche plans to have in different parts of the country, helping customers experience biopharma innovations in a completely new manner.

Strengthens Digital Technology Presence in India

Roche has been bullish on India’s digital technology leadership and the abundant tech talent available here. This is Roche’s fourth investment in India in the digital technology space, the other notable ones include:

1. Roche Information Solutions (RIS) in Pune: A global capability center for Roche which delivers proprietary, best-in-class technology for data extraction, cleansing, and transformation that unlock insights, which deliver invaluable operational and financial outcomes for hospitals and labs.

2. Global Analytics & Technology (GATE) Centers in Chennai and Hyderabad: These centers serve as an extended team for Genentech and other Roche affiliates; having expertise in analytics, data management, insights and reporting and focuses on areas like RWE (Real World Evidence), commercial analytics, forecasting, automation and market access. As an integrated global network, the GATE centers of excellence are envisioned to create the best lean and scalable solutions to drive high priority outcomes for Roche.

3. Offshore Development Center (ODC) in Chennai in partnership with ZS Associates: The recently inaugurated, dedicated Roche ZS Associates ODC named YODAc (Your One stop shop for Data & Analytics Center) brings together many capabilities such as business data operations, data quality management, global analytical product support and other ad hoc services. This center aims to consolidate existing data and analytics business operations services of all Roche Pharma affiliates at one place.

Forges industry-academia partnerships

Roche believes in skill building and shaping the talent landscape in every ecosystem that it operates in.A key aspect of this Customer Experience Centre is the opportunity to work with the university talent pool in Tamil Nadu. As part of the engagement, Roche is getting into a partnership with four reputed tech schools/universities in Tamil Nadu - SASTRA Deemed University, Vellore Institute of Technology, Kumaraguru College Of Technology and Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Science. These partnerships will help in co-creating programs that foster development on niche skills for immersive technologies and high end data analytics among students in these four colleges. Select students will be provided long-term internship opportunities with Roche on immersive media, real time engines, high end data analytics and artificial intelligence.
